Located about 200 metres from the Two Heroines Monument on the road to Paklok, the Thalang National Museum in Phuket was established in 1985 to commemorate the 200th year anniversary of the Thalang Battle, in which two leading ladies led local villagers to fight back Burmese invaders.

Formed by Phuket people with the cooperation, support and now run by the Department of Fine Arts, the museum is a repository of Phuket history, archaeological and cultural heritage and its surrounding areas. The museum is a perfect place if visitors wish to learn about local way of life.
