Kanean culture village, Phuket

Phuket does not only have tourist attractions on the beach. But it also has a cultural centre located in Ka-Nhaen community, Thalang district.

The center has information about local culture, history and Thai customary ways of life and also is a democratic community, where people are able to give out their opinions and help each other out as a whole.
Today is another exciting day for Dang who prepared and brought in raw materials to help cook with the community members and received guests who traveled far from other provinces and were attracted by the centers reputation and paid a visit as a group.

Ka-Nhaen community is located near Ton Sai stream and waterfall, in Thalang district, Thepkasatri sub-district in Phuket Province. The Ka-Nhaen village itself existed since the Ayuthaya era and is a place where the Thai heroines, Thao-Thepkasatri & Thao Srisuntorn, resided and fought with the Burmese.
