Blissful in Bangkok, just perfect in Phuket - Daily Mail

Just imagine a short break where you could combine a voyage of discovery in one of the world’s great cities with an island resort that is the ultimate beach getaway. Well, this is perfectly possible - as long as you can stomach the 11-hour plane journey that lies between you and Thailand.

Our taster of Thailand was to combine the best of urban and island life, basing ourselves at sister hotels in Bangkok and Phuket operated by The Banyan Tree chain, which prides itself on offering an ‘intimate resort experience’ with top-class spa facilities.

Phuket ranked in SpaFinder’s top ten mother-and-daughter spas - Forimmediaterelease.net

Six Senses Destination Spa - Phuket ranked in SpaFinder’s top ten mother-and-daughter spas

(Forimmediaterelease.net) Six Senses Destination Spa - Phuket, the group’s first total-wellness retreat located on the tiny island of Naka just five minutes offshore from Phuket, was the only resort in Asia to be selected in the recently-released Top Ten List of SpaFinder’s Mother-and-Daughter Spas. This raises the question as to what makes Six Senses Destination Spa - Phuket the utopian place in which all senses are united and body, soul, and spirit recharged a “Mother-and-Daughter” favorite?

Since its opening in November 2008, Six Senses Destination Spa - Phuket, has seen mothers and daughters traveling from countries as far away as Monaco, Spain, Germany, Dubai, South Africa, and the United States, often to reunite. However, it is more than reunification… it is the opportunity to escape the stresses of urban life and noise and air pollution as they are whisked away from Phuket on a luxury speedboat to a private island providing a cocoon of wellness, tranquillity, and peace. This is supported by the total absence of intrusive noise, as guests are requested to only use mobile phones in the privacy of their villas.

Spa and Thai massage services in Phuket are enhanced and franchises encouraged

The Phuket Commercial Affairs office arranged a seminar to promote spa and traditional Thai massages operators to enter the franchise business to enhance their business opportunities. The chief of Phuket Commercial Affairs Office Sompong Onprasert revealed that in the past 5-6 years, spa businesses in Phuket have continued to grow. Customers are varied from Asia such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean followed by Russian, Middle Eastern, Indian and European tourists. He points out that the business earns the province around 1,000 million baht per year. The office has introduced and educated the operators about the franchise set ups, where customers are assured to receive the same standard and quality of services. He stresses that if business operators learn about the franchises, they can make use of it, maybe by offering Phuket Spa packages into overseas markets.

Lotus Breathes Life into New Anantara Spa Phuket - Focus on Travel News

Introducing Anantara Spa Phuket, where soothing treatments and modern amenities combine with ancient cultures and healing wisdom to create a luxuriously unique spa experience.

Anantara Spa Phuket is defined by the beauty and symbolism of the lotus flower. Considered in cultures around the world as the embodiment of purity, the lotus is also one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism – which is widely practised in Thailand – and represents enlightenment, rebirth and self-regeneration.

With its roots in the earth, its growth sustained by water, its leaves nourished by air, and its blooms made radiant by the fire of the sun, the lotus is the perfection of the fourfold order of the natural world. The emergence of a new flower from its earth-bound origins is an act of transcendence in which a higher world is reached beyond the physical self. It is with this symbolism in mind that Anantara Spa Phuket has combined age-old relaxation and restoration techniques with aromatic oils that allow guest to rediscover the inner and outer beauty that so often becomes clouded by life’s daily struggles.

Mangosteen is a special place. Perched atop a hill just south of Chalong,

Mangosteen is a special place. Perched atop a hill just south of Chalong, it commands a rare view of both sides of the island and the bays of both Nai Harn and Chalong.

Mangosteen is a privately owned and operated luxury boutique resort that offers the seclusion and personal attention hard to find in big international operations – yet maintains the high standards its discerning clientele have come to expect.

The Solitude Spa is a short stroll over a timber walkway from the airy reception. Smiles follow you every step of the way and the Solitude welcome is warm and exceptionally friendly. A short chat with spa manager Nittaya revealed that Mangosteen’s owners are smart recruiters. Nittaya spent four years with the renowned Banyan Tree Spas and brings her wealth of experience to Solitude.

After an introduction to the treatment choices, my therapist Warunee greeted me with a soft smile and a beautiful ‘wai’ before escorting me to my private suite. Steam room, Jacuzzi room a few metres above the hotel pool and massage room with a panoramic view of the islands of Chalong Bay all make the most of design and location. Large tinted windows, but no outside areas, mean you remain comfortably cool while enjoying your surroundings.
